Friday, January 26, 2007

In business over 15 years in West L.A., we at Crown Auto do our best to give premium auto repair service to our customers. In addition to what our customers see, a commitment to service Japanese, German, American and Swedish cars, what they don't see is our commitment to minimize our footprint in the community.

You can find Crown Auto at 2101 Pontius Ave., between Santa Monica and Olympic Blvds, in West Los Angeles behind the Odyssey Theatre.

CROWN AUTO
ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRESS REPORT
January 15, 2007

We at Crown Auto are committed to continue our 15 year successful environmental compliance record with city and state regulators.

In addition, we plan to surpass our environmental record by seeking new management and operational changes that will positively impact the environment.

To demonstrate our concern for the health of employees, suppliers, customers, and the community in which we do business, we make the following commitments public.

Commitment to Proper Waste Hazardous Disposal
Water from mopped floor is put into special barrels with labels to be picked up by Waste Hazardous Disposal Company every two months.
Oil, anti-freeze, oil filters, and batteries are labeled in containers for same.

Commitment to Proper Air Ventilation
The doors and windows at Crown Auto remain open rain or shine for proper air ventilation. In addition, special fans are utilized.

Commitment to Zero Tolerance for Unnecessary Idling of Motors
Idling automobile motors causes a build-up of harmful emissions, which is unhealthy for employees, customers, and the community. While idling engines is common, it is unacceptable at Crown Auto. We recently instituted a zero-tolerance code of conduct for unnecessary idling of engine motors. Should you see a car engine idling, please report violation to Fernando Lopez.

Commitment to Proper Labeling of all hazardous and non-hazardous materials in shop
Mistakes in business happen. But when handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials, it is imperative that labels and packaging be checked and rechecked for proper labeling. We insist on proper labeling.

Commitment to Recycling
Paper and plastics are separated and brought to recycling centers.
